DC Net

These DC shoes look awesome and go with tons of different styles and clothing. They have a great crisp and clean look to them but still have some flash and I really love the color combination and the over all style of them to. I go to University and usually end up walking to most of my classes so to me it’s really important I am wearing good footwear because it can be quite the hike around campus. Due to the extra padding in the heel that DC puts in your foot may feel a tiny bit squished up near the toe area. I found an easy fix for this size thing was to simply push the tongue into position a tiny bit and bam…problem solved. That was my only real negative issue with them and I was glad to get it resolved fast because I love how they look on me. All in all these are some pretty cool shoes.

Here’s some of the features DC says about this shoe:

  • Synthetic leather or synthetic nubuck upper.
  • Ventilation the upper panel.
  • Soft foam tongue and collar for extra cushion and support.
  • Airflow through the mesh tongue.
  • Elastic tongue holder to keep the shape of the shoe decent and everything all in place.
  • Their popular performance cupsole design comes with these.
  • Scratch proof and tough grippy rubber outsole..
  • Eyelets on the side of the shoe.
  • Weighs about 15.00 oz..not bad.

Recently DC has announced they will be sponsoring the 2010 Mammoth Motocross, which is happening at Mammoth Lakes, California between June 17 – 27th. Besides sponsoring the event festivities, the DC Motocross team pros, Nate Adams, Jeremy McGrath, Josh Hill, Ian Trettle, Adam Cianciarulo, Zack Bell, and Chase Bell are set to be in the race at the event.
This annual show of massive talent started way back in 1968 if you can believe it and with every passing year its popularity has snowballed into the massive event it is today! It is now one of the largest grassroots motocross events in North America, combining multiple pro and amateur riders for a number of races going down at the Mammoth Mountain Motocross track.

Osiris pixel

The Osiris pixel are hands down my favorite skateboarding shoe from Osiris.  I love the color combination and style, they’re really really comfortable and have great grip on my board. I don’t skate with them too much because they’re not super cheap and I want to keep my pair for a long time as they look great with so much other stuff I wear. They do fit pretty narrow and on the small size so you may want to order yours a tiny bit bigger then say a DC shoe or something like that. Or if you have really wide feet these aren’t the kicks for you. Lucky for me mine fit awesome and I love em! They fit really comfortable and aren’t too big or clunky on my feet the times I have skated in them.

Some features on these shoes include:

  • They are part of the Osiris skate team series.
  • Leather upper with air ventilation system in place in the tongue and top of foot.
  • Soft foam upper paneling for great comfort, fit and performance.
  • Combined lace system allows for great style and helps save your shoe laces from being quickly destroyed, even if you don’t skate with em much they’re awesome to have and look mint.
  • Lightweight, breathable padding in collar and tongue for for airflow and good support.
  • Textile inner stitching and insole.
  • Shock resistant midsole, which is nice for landing any big tricks!
  • Ultra light professional cupsole construction with an airbag system in the heel to once again save your foot.
  • Weighs about 16 oz.

Recently the Osiris team including Shuriken Shannon, Chad Bartie, Taylor Bingaman, Corey Duffel, got together and headed out on the road to Northern California to hit up some skateboarding shops to do demos and sigh stuff. The team showed up at places like Surf & Skate, Goodtimes, Epic Skatepark, Metro, and Skate Works. Caswell Berry also showed up fresh from his three week road trip to do some
signing and even Del The Funky Homosapien poped in at Metro demo to chill with the skate team and picked up the microphone and did some awesome performing. This was an awesome time and everyone involved had a blast.

DC court graffik

So, I picked up a pair of DC court graffik shoes about 5 months ago due to the fact I had worn out most of my other skate shoes and really needed something new that I liked. I paid about $75 for them at the time.  But you can now get them for around $59  right here! The fit has been awesome. I wear a larger size skateboard shoe and found these to be really in between a wide and narrow shoe which worked perfectly for me. I love the colors on it the ones I have are blue and white and look really crisp and clean. Some stitching is coming apart a tiny bit and Ive worn out the toe a lot but that’s after skating in them all winter and spring so I think over all they’re holding up pretty well.

DC court graffik Shoe Features:

  • Signature shoe for Travis Pastrana.
  • Beautiful yet resistant action leather uppers.
  • Has unique Travis Pastrana Teamwork design on tongue and insole.
  • Ventilation hole system to allow for easy airflow and maximum comfort.
  • Comfortable soft foam tongue and collar for extra foot and ankle protection and support while skating.
  • Lightweight mesh tongue with Spandex® tongue holders for added comfort.
  • Innovative and unique to  DC cup sole construction for a crisp looking sole that also performs awesome.
  • Tough and durable grippy rubber outsole with the DC shoe official “Pill” design.
  • DC court graffik Weighs around 16.00 oz.

This is the signature shoe from Travis Pastrana who rides as pro motorsports competitor for the DC shoes team. He is also a well known stunt performer and has taken first in many championship events including several gold medals in the X Games in a number of events some of which are, supercross, motocross, freestyle motocross, and rally racing.

Travis Pastrana has taken the sweet spot of first place in two motocross racing championships, the 2000 A.M.A. 125cc National championship, and the 2001 125cc East Coast Supercross Championship.
Recently in DC news, their very own Alfredo Mancuso made a quick apperence on the Ellen Show to bunny hop over six brave audience members. He easily clears them and if you watch the slowed down video re run you will see he probably could have jumped 11 Alfredo was wearing some sharp new summer DC gear, and the show was awesome!. Quickly after his spot on Ellen, Alfredo will be comming togeather with the rest of his DC BMX crew on the “Roughing It west coast tour”. The tour begins in Denver, be sure to check them out as they travel through San Diego. Can’t make the show?…no problem. Now you can follow them along their westcoast spot, in real time, via the DC GPS locator. Cool stuff indeed!

DC Block Spartan

Hey everyone, this is my new review for the DC Block Spartan after about one month of using them for both skateboarding and every day wear.

Fit-8/10

These felt great as soon as I put them on. Not hard and tough like a lot of other skate shoes. They do fit a little on the small size so maybe buy 1/2 size bigger then you need. This is what I did and it’s worked out great. The tongue and collar on these is nicely padded and help keep my comfort level up and Ive found no matter what kinda of socks Im wearing with them they still conform to my foot great and always feel right.

Style-10/10

For me personally I love the look of these kicks. The graffiti graphics on the side are wicked and I love how they look.  The colors are clear and crisp and over all they’re my favorite day in and day out shoes to wear. I find their look to be really versatile too and goes with tons of other stuff I wear. They come in a few really sick color combination’s just check out some below!

Duribilty-8/10

I’ve been skating in these a whole bunch over the past month and they’re holding up awesome! The fabric doesn’t come
apart of seperate at all. They have a cool lace saving feature which allows you to have the bottom two rows of laces behind an extra piece of leather to guard and protect your laces from being destroyed quickly by your grip tape.

Features-7/10

Upper vent system for maximum airflow (I found it actually works with these shoes) Padded tongue and collar for added comfort and ankle support. Stretchable tongue placements come in really handy and help the shoe totally stay in place on your foot, Performance rubber wrap cupsole, this shoe is also created with a revolutionary new system which gives you all the durable benefits of a vulcanized sole without feeling hard and inflexible.

Key Features:

  • Soft yet durable leather upper.
  • Ventilated details.
  • Vented upper airflow system.
  • TPU eyelets.
  • Soft foam tongue and collar for ankle support and all around comfort.
  • Light breathable tongue.
  • Spandex tongue holders for great fit and placement on your foot.
  • High performing rubber wrap cupsole, this is an awesome construction technique that gives you all the benefits of vulcanized sole without feeling uncomfortable or stiff.

Recently DC shoes finished off their “Tonik:Drink Up” tour up the California coast line. This tour was put on to celebrate the release of Dc new “The Tonik” skate shoe. Shane Auckland came along with the DC team and documented the daily events both of skateboarding and day to day stuff across the West Coast. The Berrics have recently put up Part 1 of the “DC to SF” movie. Be sure to keep a look out for part 2 of this coming soon.

Ipath Locust

This is my review of the Ipath Locust shoes that Ive had for just over 1 month now:

Fit-8/10

These shoes took me a few sessions to break in. They were somewhat tough to skate in at first but they started feeling good pretty quickly. I would suggest wearing them at home for a day or two to break them in. Also because of the hi tops make sure you wear full length socks so the leather isn’t rubbing against your ankle. Having said that these do fit great and true. They’re not too wide and feel great to skate in. They provide me with lots of comfort and decent protective padding without feeling too bulky although they are a good size shoe. They’re just the right size for my foot, the shoe feels very true to size.

Grip-10/10

These have some of the best grip Ive ever found in a skateboard shoe!  Im also currently skating in a pair of Lakai and they’re not nearly as grippy as the Ipath Locust are. You will stick to the board with these guys on your feet. Also included for use is a Velcro strap which helps the shoes stay on even better with little slipping around. The soles seem pretty tough too and are holding up well..which leads us to..

Durabilty-6.5/10

All things considered (I put my shoes through hell) these are holding up nicely. Some stitching in the toe has come out but that was after a couple weeks of intense skating which is pretty much to be expected. However these are canvass and do not hold up as well as say the Ipath Grasshopper which is made from a tough leather.

Features-8/10

Like most of the Ipath shoes these also feature a hidden stash pocket on the inside part of the shoes tongue, also these kicks are made in a pretty enviro-friendly way by using materials like hemp and organic cotton and while this may not save the world it’s still pretty cool. These shoes also have a leather upper with rounded toe, a special customizable ankle strap for added comfort and fit (a feature I completely love) toe ventilation, foam padded lining, detachable CHT insole created out of coconut skin which Ipath claims will help your fee breath alot. These also feature a shock absorbing gel heel system which is really great especially for big tricks when your heel impacts the ground hard.

Ipath Reed

The Ipath Reed are the signature shoes from pro skater Kenny Reed. They have some pretty far out color and graphics combination’s along with some great features for skating. Some of the Ipath Reed shoes feature Vegan friendly materials. They offer a super comfortable feel and fit with protective foam padding on the color, footbed and tongue. The soles of these shoes are made from durable and tough polyurethane so they should last you a good amount of skate time. They come in some really great colors and styles to suit any look or style you may want. These shoes are made with the true skater in mind and they stand up to a good amount of wear and tear.

Kenny Reed has spent a large amount of time traveling all over the world and skating every single spot he can along the way. Very cool indeed. Reed says not only does he do this just to simply see if it can be done, but immerse himself in new cultures and partake in how other people around the world go about life. Often his nick name is “The traveler” because of this life style. Kenny Reed isnt the type of guy to be sitting around his house for too long, not when there is an entire world out there to skate. This type of lifestyle and philosophy fits right in with Ipath Shoes. Currently Reed is living in Barcelona, Spain.

Emerica Reynolds

Check out the new Emerica Reynolds 3. This is the signature skate shoe from pro skater Andrew Reynolds. He has designed and tested this shoe himself so you know this is a serious product and features some sick stuff including diamond accents, Suede or leather upper.  Aesthetically designed toe guard which blends perfectly into the shoe. Isolated lace protection system, Elastic tongue stabilizers. It also has a kick ass foam shock absorption system in the footbed, a System G2 heel cushion. Soft padding on tongue for added support and comfort. These come with a vulcanized rubber sole as well.

Besides all these awesome features and colors the Emerica Reynolds 3 has some other interesting facts. The shoe initaly came out for the Christmas season. The shoe model did great and has been a backbone of the Emerica line since it’s first realese, but but it was only around for a couple seasons.

Going back in time a litlte bit to 2008, one of the Emerica message board members had a killer idea. The plan was to re-release the original shoe in its original red color and after receiving a lot of positive feedback from skaters and fans alike, Emerica decided to give back to the fans and supporters. So in early 2010 they re-released the original Reynolds 3 skate shoe.

To show appreciation to all their our loyal site members, Emerica offers some special surprises with this shoe. One of the first things you might notice when you grab a pair fresh from the box is the unique EMB tag on the heel. An even close look at these kicks revels even more cool stuff. The insole of the right shoe reprints the original post requesting these kicks be brought back, and the left shoe commemorates all of the top EMB contributors who made the entire thing possible. Pretty cool stuff indeed!
